Another social publishing website, authonomy invites authors, published or unpublished, to create their personal writing page, where other users are able to read and comment on your work. Also free, authonomy was created from HarpersCollins, allowing for authors to expose their work for publishing through this traditional publishing house.
Authors must upload at least 10,000 words to have their own profile, but are not limited in the amount of their book they post. Readers are able to read any document that is on the site, as well as share their favorites with other users on the site. Each user has a virtual bookshelf, allowing others to see what they’ve read, or what they especially liked. At the end of every month, the top five ranked books will be delivered to the editorial board at Harpers Collins, allowing for professional feedback and critique. There is also a user forum to discuss your work with others on the site. This site is still in beta, and documents that include images or illustrations cannot be uploaded at this time. This site is easy to use and has a great outreach for authors and an excellent place for readers to read free writings.
